Olympus' Mythology Tour
A different tour of the Mountain of the Gods, combining Olympus’ unrivaled natural beauty with the majestic significance of its mythology!
Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece and has been recognized since 1981 as a Biosphere Reserve under UNESCO’s “Man and the Biosphere” programme. However, its most distinctive feature is its cultural dimension and mythological background, which, since ancient literature, has echoed through all forms and periods of art across time.
On this Mythological Walk, a moderate-level hike of approximately 5 km along the mountain’s slopes is combined with modern insights into how Olympus’ geomorphology and history shaped its mythology. Each short stop is inspired by and dedicated to one of the Twelve Olympian Gods, their characteristics, and what they symbolize for us today. The experience is enriched through interactive and innovative elements and is designed and led by two curators who accompany participants throughout: an Archaeologist / Licensed Tour Guide and a Local Expert Guide specialized in cultural communication.
