Off-road Routes

In the majority of the off-road tracks a 4 x 4 vehicle is required and, if you have a high 4-wheeled car, our team is able to provide you with specific directions in order to follow them on your own. Alternatively, guided private jeep tours are being held by experienced mountain guides all year round upon reservation, with their own vehicles, so as to enjoy your excursion with safety and carefreeness.

Forest Tracks

Western Olympus and the Pierian mountains contain a virgin network of off-road tracks that either connect the mountain villages with each other, or serve the needs of the local communities for timber and access to their fields. Many of them were opened upon old paths created from the incessant passage of animals, carts and herds. Under smooth weather conditions the forest off-road tracks are open and accesible throughout the year.

Alpine zone

Road acces to the alpine zone [approximately 1700 metres and above] is usually possible from June until the end of October, depending on the weather conditions of each year.

Western Olympus is the only side of the mountain that offers the possibility of ascension to an altitutde of 2500 metres via a mountain dirt road - and not exclusively through trekking trails. From there a trekking path continues all the way up to the peaks of Olympus, making this unique experience achievable within just a few hours.

Respectively, a mountain dirt-road leads to the peak of the Pierian mountains, following a route through the asphalt road network that penetrates the forests of the mountains of the Muses. Thick vegetation and small villages, either inhabited or vacationer, take central stage in this route and offer chances for respite and a different view towards Olympus.
